Our sturdy plastic playground borders become ADA accessible with the use of an ADA ramp and engineered wood fiber surfacing. The plastic
timbers come in two lengths: four (4) foot and six (6) foot, which include
one and two spikes, respectively. The 4-foot models come with a 10 year manufacturer's warranty! The border timbers provide a retaining barrier for loose-fill resilient surfacing and add a
finished edge to the play area.They're easy to install, even in your backyard. They also make great sandboxes, dirt boxes, landscape
borders and flower boxes.
Plastic timbers are
splinter free, unlike wood,
and they require no expertise or special tools
to do a professional looking job. They're
also easy to move and re-install. Also, plastic timbers contain playground surfacing (like woodchips) in a defined area. Finally, they create a visually pleasing border to any area.
The colors available depend on the length of the timber that you need.
• 4-foot long timbers, 8 inches high -- black only.
• 4-foot long timbers, 9 inches high -- blue, green, red, black, yellow
• 4-foot long timbers, 12 inches high -- black and green. Other colors may be special ordered. In black, two grades are available: Prime Quality and Standard Quality.
• 6-foot long timbers (12 inches high) -- black and green. Other colors may be special ordered.
The
ends overlap, and the timbers are fastened with 30-inch galvanized spikes. Line the timbers up, drive the spike into the ground using a mallet or sledgehammer, and that's it!
Lengths available: 4 feet and 6 feet.
Width: all borders are 4 inches wide.

• 9 inches (4-foot length only)
• 12 inches (for 4-foot or 6-foot timbers)
Our plastic timbers are made from hollow polyethylene, with molded-in ribs
for strength. That makes them incredibly durable.
We sell 2 types of 4-foot, 12"-high black timbers: a Prime model, and a Standard model. • Prime Quality Black Timber has a slightly pebbled finish and 2 scalloped indentations ("weep holes") on the underside, for better drainage. It comes with a 10-year warranty. We use these timbers on our own playground jobs. • Standard Quality Black Timber has a smoother finish than the Prime model, but it's still a great product, manufactured by a leading rotomolder. It comes with a 1-year warranty. The Standard timber is $3.00 cheaper than the Superior model.
